Mainframe Industries has announced its first game, a fantasy sandbox MMO with a focus on social interaction, Pax Dei. The creative director of the project was Reynir Hardarson, one of the original creators of EVE Online.

The team has been working on the project for three years. The authors want to implement the idea that gamers have already seen at the start of Fallout 76 – a world without NPCs. Players must independently cooperate with each other.

The game will have crafting and building systems. Players will be able to build their own cities and villages wherever they want. These zones will be protected from PvP encounters.

As planned by the developers, gamers will choose their specialization themselves. Some will focus on gathering resources, while others will focus on crafting. Thus, the players themselves will give each other “quests”.

Pax Dei includes fighting monsters and clearing boss dungeons. The game will not have a classic class system. Journalists who were presented with the project at a private event compare the local skill leveling system with Guild Wars 2. That is, if a player often uses a bow, he will unlock the appropriate skills for this weapon. Such a flexible system will allow players to create their own classes.

There will be magic in the game, but the developers have not yet given details about how magic works in the local setting.

Despite the fact that the Mainframe Industries studio was created in 2019, its staff already exceeds 70 people. The team includes experienced developers who previously worked at CCP, Remedy, Blizzard and other companies.

Pax Dei will be released on PC and mobile devices. The release date is still unknown. There is also no information about the console versions of the game yet. Now you can sign up for participation in alpha testing.
